Wangjiang Tower Park is a riverside garden dedicated to the Tang poet Xue Tao, one of the most celebrated women writers in Chinese literary history. The tall Chongli Pavilion rises above a landscape of halls, wells, streams and dense bamboo, creating the park’s defining silhouette beside the Jin River. Xue Tao’s association with poetry, paper making and the local court gives the garden a strong literary identity. More than one hundred varieties of bamboo reflect traditions describing the poet’s affection for the plant and create an unusually rich botanical collection. Memorial architecture and inscriptions preserve later generations’ admiration for her work, while the river setting connects the site with Chengdu’s historic waterways. The park thus combines a personal literary memorial with a broader landscape of bamboo culture and classical garden design. Its pavilions frame the bamboo canopy as both botanical collection and visual metaphor for cultivated character.
