Build a trip to Beijing
Beijing Olympic Park is the monumental urban landscape created for the 2008 Summer Olympics and later reused for the 2022 Winter Games. Its central axis brings together the National Stadium, National Aquatics Center, observation tower, plazas and extensive public landscaping. The Bird’s Nest exposes a dramatic lattice of structural steel, while the Water Cube presents a translucent geometric skin, creating two contrasting icons of contemporary engineering. The park extends Beijing’s historic north-south axis into a modern district built around mass gathering, sport and national display. Broad open spaces reveal the scale required for global events, and later adaptation has turned competition venues into cultural, recreational and commercial facilities. The coexistence of Summer and Winter Olympic legacies gives the area a continuing role in the city’s identity rather than leaving it as a single-event precinct.
