Blue Moon Valley lies within the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic system, where mineral-rich glacial water flows through pale blue pools and constructed cascades below the high peaks. Color changes with cloud, sediment and season, and the vivid water should be understood as part of a managed mountain attraction rather than an isolated natural swimming area. Shuttle transport and designated paths control movement through the valley, often creating concentrated crowds at the most famous terraces. The stop must be planned inside a full mountain day, with altitude, weather and transfer time considered alongside the relatively easy walking near the water. Glacial and mountain water carries fine mineral sediment that contributes to the valley’s pale blue and turquoise appearance. Terraced pools, white stone and cascades create a highly structured sequence beneath the dark mountain slopes. Although parts of the waterscape have been managed for visitors, its visual power still comes from the contrast between luminous water and the high-altitude environment of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
