Build a trip to Guilin
The Yulong River Scenic Area covers a long rural corridor of limestone peaks, fields, villages, old bridges and calm waterways west of Yangshuo. Bamboo rafting, cycling and walking follow different sections, and many routes are one-way, so the experience cannot be reduced to a single entrance or viewing platform. Raft segments emphasize the water and small weirs, while bicycles provide greater freedom to connect bridges and farming landscapes on shore. Visitors should decide on a specific start and finish, verify current raft operations and arrange return transport before departure; trying to combine every activity in a short visit usually creates more transfers than meaningful time in the landscape. The Yulong is a smaller, slower tributary landscape than the main Li River, bordered by fields, villages, old stone bridges and close karst peaks. Bridges such as Yulong and Fuli record earlier movement across the valley, while bamboo rafts and rural roads reveal the water from different levels. Agriculture remains central to the scenery, making the area a lived cultural landscape rather than an empty natural corridor.
