Benjakitti Park
Build a trip to Bangkok
About
Originally the site of a tobacco factory, Benjakitti Park has been transformed into a world-class urban forest. The recent 'Forest Park' expansion features elevated skywalks that meander through wetlands and native tree species. The sensory experience is poetic, especially at night when the orange skywalk lights glow against the backdrop of the Sukhumvit skyscrapers. Experts recommend the 1.8km cycling and walking track that encircles the large central lake. Pro tip: It is arguably the best spot for night photography in Bangkok; the view of the illuminated skyscrapers reflecting in the lake is iconic. Visit during the late afternoon to transition from a golden-hour walk to a neon-lit evening.

Peppina (Sukhumvit 33)
Peppina is the undisputed king of Neapolitan pizza in Bangkok, certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana. The restaurant features an industrial-chic design with high ceilings and a massive wood-fired oven that creates a perfect char on the dough. The sensory experience is authentic—a soft, elastic crust, the scent of fresh basil, and high-quality buffalo mozzarella. Experts recommend the 'Montanara' (lightly fried dough) and their seasonal specialty pizzas. Practical pro tip: It is a favorite for the expat community and local foodies, so dinner reservations are a must on weekends; the Sukhumvit 33 branch has a great lively vibe, making it perfect for groups.
Issaya Siamese Club
Set in a century-old Thai villa with a sprawling tropical garden, Issaya Siamese Club is the flagship restaurant of celebrity chef Ian Kittichai. The interior is a colorful explosion of Thai-inspired pop art and antique furniture. The cuisine is a creative take on traditional Thai flavors, with dishes like the 'Yum Hua Plee' (banana blossom salad) prepared tableside. The sensory experience is one of bohemian luxury and garden-party charm. Experts recommend the 'Broken Bucket' dessert for its theatrical presentation. Practical pro tip: The location is a bit hidden in a residential area near Sathon; it’s best to take a taxi directly to the gate. Arrive early to enjoy a cocktail in the garden before dinner.
Rung Rueang Pork Noodle
Rung Rueang is a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient and arguably the most famous pork noodle stall in Bangkok. This family-run shop has been serving its signature clear or tom yum pork broth for generations. The sensory experience is a classic Bangkok shophouse vibe—stainless steel tables, the sound of boiling cauldrons, and the rapid-fire assembly of noodle bowls. The 'Minced Pork' is the star here, incredibly flavorful and tender. Experts recommend the 'Medium' spicy Tom Yum soup with wide rice noodles. Practical pro tip: There are two shops side-by-side run by different brothers; both are excellent, but look for the one with the most locals. Be prepared to share a table during the peak lunch hour.
Sorn
Sorn is a two-Michelin-starred temple of Southern Thai gastronomy, located in a stunningly renovated old house. Chef Ice focuses on the intense, spicy, and vibrant flavors of Thailand’s southern provinces, using ingredients sourced daily from local fishermen and farmers. The sensory experience is a masterclass in heat and balance, with every dish presented on artisanal tableware. The 'Gems on Crab Stick' and the 'Yellow Curry' are legendary for their complexity. Experts recommend the charcoal-grilled meats for their smoky perfection. Practical pro tip: This is the hardest reservation to secure in Thailand; booking opens on the first of each month and sells out within seconds. Ensure your internet connection is fast and be ready at the stroke of 10:00 AM local time.
