Build a trip to Bali
About
Koral is Bali's first underwater dining destination, located inside the majestic Apurva Kempinski. Guests dine in a glass-enclosed tunnel as reef sharks, rays, and tropical fish glide overhead, creating a mesmerizing 'aquarium' experience. The cuisine is billed as 'bistronomy,' featuring high-end seafood and artisanal ingredients prepared with modern precision. The sensory experience is tranquil and surreal, with blue-hued lighting and the silent movement of marine life. Experts recommend the 'Koral Degustation Menu' paired with their sommelier's selection. Pro tip: Due to limited seating and its massive popularity, reservations must be made at least 2-4 weeks in advance. Note that there is a minimum spend and a strict smart-casual dress code; children are only allowed during specific lunch sessions.

The sensory experience is highly interactive, especially at the Teppanyaki counters where chefs showcase impressive knife skills and fire-cooking techniques. Nusa Dua Beach
Nusa Dua is an impeccably maintained enclave of five-star resorts, manicured gardens, and pristine white sand beaches. The waters here are crystal clear and exceptionally calm, making it the safest spot on the island for swimming and water sports. The area is designed for luxury and privacy, with a distinct sense of exclusivity. The sensory experience is one of refined tranquility—perfectly raked sand, swaying palms, and the faint sound of Gamelan music from nearby resort lobbies. Experts recommend visiting the 'Water Blow' landmark, where the ocean crashes into a narrow limestone gap, creating a massive natural spray. Pro tip: While the area feels private, all beaches in Bali are public; you can access the shoreline through the public gates between the major resorts without being a guest.
Sundays Beach Club Dining
Sundays Beach Club offers an incomparable beachfront dining experience at the base of a towering limestone cliff in Uluwatu. Accessible via a scenic inclinator ride down the cliff face, the restaurant serves fresh, inspired coastal cuisine in a relaxed, open-air setting. The sensory experience is defined by the crystal-clear turquoise lagoon, the feel of fine white sand between your toes, and the evening glow of beach bonfires. Expert recommendations include the wood-fired pizzas and fresh seafood poke bowls. Pro tip: Stay until sunset when the club lights beanbag bonfires on the beach—perfect for toasting marshmallows. Arrive early (by 9:00 AM) to secure a prime spot, as this hidden cove is a first-come, first-served paradise with a daily entry fee that includes food and beverage credit.
Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK)
Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is home to one of the world's tallest statues—a 121-meter depiction of the Hindu god Vishnu riding the mythical bird Garuda. This massive copper and brass monument is a feat of modern engineering and a tribute to Indonesia's spiritual heritage. The park spans 60 hectares of carved limestone pillars and open-air theaters where traditional Balinese dances are performed hourly. Walking through the 'Lotus Pond' area, surrounded by sheer cliff walls, creates a sense of immense scale. Experts recommend taking the guided tour inside the statue's pedestal to learn about its 28-year construction history. Pro tip: The park is vast and gets very hot; use the complimentary shuttle buses provided within the grounds and visit the indoor museum to cool off.
