About
Angel's Billabong is a spectacular natural infinity pool carved into the jagged volcanic coastline of Nusa Penida. This geological marvel features crystal-clear emerald water that reveals intricate rock patterns beneath the surface, framed by sharp limestone cliffs. When the tide is low, the pool is calm and translucent, offering a surreal swimming experience with a view of the vast Indian Ocean. The sensory experience is a mix of the calm pool water against the backdrop of crashing waves just meters away. Experts recommend visiting strictly during low tide to see the colors at their most vibrant. Pro tip: Never enter the pool during high tide or when big waves are hitting the coast, as rogue waves can sweep people out to sea instantly; always check the tide tables before your trip.

Broken Beach (Nusa Penida)
Broken Beach, or Pasih Uug, is a stunning geological phenomenon where a massive limestone arch allows the ocean to flow into a circular turquoise pool. Once a massive cave, the roof collapsed ages ago, leaving a perfect natural bridge that you can walk across. The contrast between the deep blue ocean outside and the calm pool inside is mesmerizing. You can often spot manta rays swimming in the sea below the cliffs from this vantage point. The area is rugged and wild, with no direct access to the water, focusing entirely on the panoramic views. Experts suggest visiting during high tide for the most dramatic wave action through the arch. Pro tip: Combine this with a visit to Angel's Billabong, which is only a 5-minute walk away, but be mindful of the rocky, uneven terrain.

Crystal Bay (Nusa Penida)
Named for its remarkably clear waters, Crystal Bay is a palm-fringed cove that serves as the premier snorkeling and diving destination on Nusa Penida. The bay is protected from heavy swells, creating a sanctuary for a vibrant coral reef teeming with tropical fish. Between July and October, lucky divers may even spot the elusive Mola Mola (Oceanic Sunfish) in the deeper waters. The beach itself is a perfect crescent of silver-grey sand, ideal for relaxing under the shade of a coconut tree. Experts suggest heading to the left side of the bay near the rocks for the best snorkeling right off the shore. Pro tip: This is the best spot on the island to watch the sunset; arrive by 5:00 PM to grab a beanbag and a cold Bintang at one of the local warungs.
Kelingking Beach (Nusa Penida)
Kelingking Beach is world-famous for its limestone headland that resembles a T-Rex with its jaws open. The turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean clash against the white sands and towering cliffs, creating one of the most photographed spots in Southeast Asia. While the view from the top is breathtaking, the hike down to the beach is incredibly steep and treacherous, requiring physical fitness and steady nerves. The sensory experience is intense—high winds, bright sun, and the thunderous sound of the surf. Experts recommend staying at the top for the 'T-Rex' silhouette but descending halfway for a less crowded perspective. Pro tip: Wear proper sneakers, not flip-flops, if you intend to hike down, and bring plenty of water as there is no shade on the path.
